Site analysis and design, Architectural Design I

The architecture program at Norwalk Community College is an affordable and incredible alternative to mainstream schooling. NCC is an inspirational environment that cultivates talent and motivates students to be exceptional in their field of study. The knowledge I received at NCC is priceless, but the support and encouragement I received on a daily basis are unparalleled.

NCC opened a door of opportunity to me and encouraged me in every way. While studying at Norwalk Community College I was exposed to a variety of math, art and design classes which deepened my passion for architecture. My hard work and dedication paid off when my residential Mixed-Use Project received 1st prize in the Design 1 competition class and my Commercial Mixed-Use Design 2 project was awarded 2nd prize. In addition my Design 2 Art Gallery Project received two awards, Best of Show, and Best Design Encouraging Walkable Community. My accomplishments not only reaffirmed my passion, but they proved to me this is meant to be my life’s work.

Norwalk Community College gave me the opportunity and confidence to attend a school such as Pratt. My hard work paid off when I was able to transfer 99% of my classes from NCC to PRATT, which would not be possible without the amazing teaching staff, and Norwalk Community College’s foundation. Continuation of my education at Pratt is going to take an additional three years, however without the LEAP scholarship, provided by NCC Foundation, my education at PRATT would not be financially possible. I am certain that after finishing my education at this prestigious college I will have the extensive design, construction, and architecture experience to become a successful architect and a leader in my field.
