Open Computer Labs
Computers for student use are available in Norwalk Community College's GE Open Lab. It is located in the Center for Information Technology on the West Campus. These computers are available throughout the day for internet browsing, research, writing papers, and any other classroom assignments. The Open Lab houses 50 PCs running Windows XP SP2, and two Apple G4s running MacOS X. Students are required to log in with their NetIDs. A lab monitor is always on hand in the GE Open Lab to offer assistance with logging in or computer issues.
Computers for student use are also available on the first floor of The Everett I.L. Baker Library.

Lab computers are for academic homework and research use. Chat and games are NOT permitted. Students using them for chat or games will be asked to relinquish them for their proper use. |

| • | Academic use of the computers (homework and research) takes priority over casual use (email, browsing, etc.) | |
| • | All cell phones and pagers should have their ringers turned off while in the lab. Take phone conversations outside. | |
| • | Settings on the computers should not be changed. | |
| • | Downloading of Software or the use of file sharing software to the computers is not allowed. | |
| • | Students must have USB memory sticks to save their work. Any student files saved to the computer WILL BE LOST upon reboot of the computer. |
