Certificate Program

This one-year certificate program offers the quickest way to attain the skills necessary to function as a business software specialist, preparing students for both full and part-time positions that abound in today’s job market. Everyone from entry-level job seekers through managers looking to advance their careers, need a solid foundation in business computing. This certificate includes computer concepts, comprehensive courses on the entire Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher) and additional business software (Crystal Reports). In addition, it includes accounting and composition courses to support your use of Excel and Word respectively.

Applicants who have had previous training in keyboarding may qualify for advanced placement; thus beginning the program with BOT 102 – Keyboarding II; replacing Keyboarding I with an Open General Elective. 30 credits are required for the certificate.

Students who decide to continue for the Associate in Science degree in Business Technology will find almost all courses in the certificate program acceptable for the Associate degree.
