NCC Tuition is Affordable

An NCC education is an outstanding value. Annual tuition at NCC is a fraction of the cost at most public and private universities. By choosing NCC for the first two years of a four-year degree, students can save up to $80,000 on the overall cost of their undergraduate education. Payment Plans

Sudents who enroll for 12 credits or more may request a tuition payment plan. Please visit the Business Office for complete information.

Tuition Waivers

Tuition fees will be waived for any honorably discharged veteran who served with the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard during the Vietnam conflict, the invasion of Grenada, the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon, Operation Earnest Will (escort of Kuwaiti oil tankers), Panama Invasion, or Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. There are certain academic standards which must be maintained to avoid any termination of veterans benefits.

Tuition fees will be waived for any member of the Connecticut Army or Air National Guard, provided he or she is a resident of Connecticut and can be certified by the Adjutant General as a member in good standing of the Guard. The waiver will be reduced by any educational reimbursement received from an employer.

Tuition fess will be waived for any dependent person of a member of the Armed Forces of the United States declared to be missing in action or declared to have been a prisoner of war.

Tuition fees will be waived for any dependent child of a police officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty, as defined by General Statutes 7-294a and 7-323.

Tuition will be waived for any Connecticut State resident aged sixty-two years or older. There must be space available in the course requested, after the regular registration period has ended. Candidates must have been accepted for admission to the college.

Application fees, matriculation fees and all general fees for courses offered through the General Fund will be waived for full-time employees of the college, their spouses and dependent children.


For General Fund Courses:

Any registered student wishing to withdraw from a course or courses must submit a withdrawal request to the Records Office. The effective date of any withdrawal request is the date that it is received by the Records Office.

1) Students who file a Notice of Withdrawal before the first day of a semester will receive a 100% refund of their tuition expenses. Registration fees and deposits are non-refundable.

2) Students who file a Notice of Withdrawal before the fourteenth calendar day of a semester will receive a 50% refund of their tuition expenses. Registration fees and deposits are non-refundable.

3) No refunds of any amount will occur after the fourteenth calendar day of any semester.

For Extension and Summer Session Courses:

Students must file a Notice of Withdrawal before the end of the business day prior to the beginning of courses. Tuition expenses only will be refunded in those cases. Registration fees and deposits are non-refundable. No refunds of any amount will be allowed once courses have begun.

State of Connecticut Refund Policy for Extenuating Circumstances

Fall and Spring SEmesters Refund Policy

A refund appeal may be filed in writing after the deadline stated in the College's refund policy. No appeals will be considered except for the following reasons:

  • Student with severe illness documented with a doctor's written verification.
  • Documented military orders.
  • Erroneous advisement by the College with documentation.

Refer to the semester schedule or the College Catalog for the College's full refund policy and deadlines. Please submit your written statement with documentation to the Record's Office, East Campus, Room E102.

Summer Session Refund Appeal Policy

All appeals must be made within the first week of that summer session you are appealing. Summer session requests for an appeal must be submitted to the Records Office, Room E102. A Refund Appeals Committee reviews requests at the end of the summer.

Course Cancellation Policy

For any course that is cancelled by the College, the tuition and fees for that course can be refunded. A request in writing must be received by the Records Office in order to process the refund.

Financial Aid

Although actual college tuition expenses at NCC are low in comparison with other institutions of higher learning, some students may find it difficult to meet them. For those students, a variety of financial aid programs are available. Please contact our Financial Aid Office for a complete listing. Applicants are required to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid form, regardless of the source of funding for the financial aid program chosen. These applications must be filed by April 1st for the following fall semester or by October 1st for the following spring semester. To receive aid from the programs listed, students must:

Federal regulations require the Financial Aid Office to review the academic progress of each continuing student applying for aid. Student receiving aid must comply with the College's Satisfactory Academic Progress Guidelines. Students found to be in violation of these guidelines ill no longer be eligible for financial aid.
